To be excluded from the financial system brings a burden on both the community and the country's economic growth. Informed credit and microfinancing systems can become bridges that span between poverty and prosperity. The project targets to build solutions addressing the financial gap for underserved communities in India, with a special focus on Tribal communities.
The vision of the project is to empower these communities by enhancing their access to credit mechanisms, fostering financial literacy and creating microfinance solutions. Addressing both awareness and accessibility, Lend2Lead initiative aims to unlock economic potential and drive sustainable development in underserved regions.
The project employs awareness campaign drives with expert interviews, factsheets, and digital content on financial concepts and literacy. One of the key initiatives of the project is Credit in Kind, which offers interest free in kind loans to launch small scale entrepreneurial ventures, helping the community members to overcome their financial struggle.Â
The project recognises the need for multi-faceted intervention to bring about an actionable change and propels towards combining education, advocacy and implementable support. With Lend2Lead, a democratised ecosystem offering financial inclusion and economic self reliance for rural India is not far away.
