Veer Khimji is a student at the Jayshree Periwal International School, studying under the International Baccalaureate, currently studying Mathematics, Economics, Global Politics, Biology, English and French. His aspiration is to study Political Science with a focus on the Political Economy of Development. He is driven by the vision to address the lack of culturally informed policy interventions for tribal and marginalised communities in India. Aiming to achieve his vision, his academic pursuit includes selection for the Columbia University’s summer immersion program ‘Economics, entrepreneurship and social justice, where he excelled through lectures, case studies and presentations.
As president of the debate and MUN club at JPIS, Veer leads training sessions, coordinates events, and mentors junior members. Previously at Woodstock School, he has demonstrated leadership in a number of pursuits, such as The investing club where he managed portfolios and the Wharton Investment Simulator. He went on to represent in the Wharton Global High School Investment competition for both Woodstock and JPIS. Beyond his passion for academic excellence and global-economic politics, Veer enjoys playing chess and volunteering for environmental causes.
